The nets alongside the main pitch at Longwater, are normally to prevent footballs! The tree has been cleared up now, and the nets will be repaired as soon as possible.

At our last meeting, Cllr Terry Laidlaw stood down as Chairman after one year in the role. On Tuesday evening Town Councillors will elect a new Chairman before they move on to other business.

Annually the County Council give us the opportunity to bid for a 50% grant towards local highway improvements. This year we will help deter rat-running with speed humps on Gurney Road, Crown Road and Sunny Grove. Previously we part funded wooden posts on West End to prevent parking on the grass verge, flashing lights on Longwater Lane to make the crossing point safer, and trod footways (low-cost footpaths)...
