Dear Mr Bacon

Re: Enquiry by Costessey Town Council to Richard Bacon MP

The bus lane itself has been completed by the consortium of developers, subject to some minor remedial issues which I believe are still outstanding. The two bus gates at either end also have some minor outstanding issues which need to be resolved prior to them being commissioned and available for use. Whilst Norfolk County Council (NCC) is doing everything we can to aid the consortium to finalise these outstanding matters, the timing of their completion is not in our control.

Once all outstanding matters have been completed, NCC have agreed in principle to proceed with the adoption of the bus lane from West Costessey Hall to Ringland Lane in advance of adopting any other roads on Queens Hills. Additionally, the consortium have agreed in principle to allow buses to use bus lane whilst the adoption process is being finalised.

We are waiting for the consortium to finalise all outstanding matters and subsequently formally serve notice to NCC that they wish to have the bus lane adopted. Therefore, I cannot provide a date when it will be available for use by public transport.

I trust this responds to your constituent’s concerns in full, please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information relating to this matter.

Yours sincerely

Chrissie Lillie
