SUMMARY
In response to a Government White Paper Costessey Parish Council initiated the Parish Plan Steering Committee which was charged with consulting the community on the current state and future development of the parish. This was done by open days and a questionnaire which was distributed throughout the parish.
One of the main conclusions identified in the Plan is that the residents of Costessey enjoy living in the parish and the environment in which it is set. They are protective of the advantages which it presents and are concerned for the future well-being of the parish and those who will live there.
The major areas of action relate to:
- Traffic movements in and around the parish
- The changes brought about by the pace and scale of development
- Protection of the rural environment
- The levels of policing in the area
- Provision of suitable facilities for youth
- The problems of vandalism and anti-social behaviour
